One world lives next to the other world, alongside, above, underneath, inside, outside.

Your profile rests against your pillow, your ear down in the softness, the warmth, the weave, hearing, then listening.

You gaze at the wall, soon seeing patterns, soon movement, soon a small white hand reaching out, offering.

cat head and elephants on the moon are unpublished.

rump-a-thump was first published in the Summer 2000 issue of the British magazine ROADWORKS. the bear was first published in the May 2000 issue of the Australian magazine RedSine. Another story in this series, fish, is scheduled to appear sometime in 2002 in ROADWORKS.
